Ever since the Detroit Lions moved downtown to Ford Field in 2002, Eastern Market has been a lively, open-air gathering place for thousands of enthusiastic Lions fans. Our parking lots provide a great place to cook burgers, brats and whatever strikes your taste buds. There are lots of places to park and set up party space around your car, van, RV or bus, and toss a football or a beanbag. When it's game time, you can grab a shuttle (they run continuously between Ford Field and Eastern Market) or make the 10-minute walk across the bridge to the football stadium.
Tailgating at Eastern Market is a high-octane experience. Beyond the thrill of being there, the proceeds support our mission of operating the market, providing access to good food, and growing local food businesses and jobs.
All you need to join tailgating day is a parking pass. Purchase passes ONLINE through PayPal by selecting a date from the drop-down menu:
Lots open at 7 a.m. and close one hour after the game.
Parking: $40 per space. (RVs and other large vehicles may require additional spaces.)
Shuttle: $5 per person (round trip). Shuttles arrive every 15 minutes at three locations along Russell Street and one location on Wilkins Street in front of Lot 8.
